Demänovská Valley is the most visited destination in the Low Tatras. It lies south of Liptovský Mikuláš, on the northern slopes of the Low Tatras mountain range, at elevations ranging from 700 to 2,000 meters above sea level. The Low Tatras form an extensive mountain range with a main ridge stretching 82 km in length, with the highest peaks exceeding an elevation of 2,000 m above sea level. Demänovská Valley—the most beautiful valley in the Low Tatras—is 16 km long. It extends from the main ridge between the peaks of Ďumbier (2,043 m), Krúpova hoľa (1,927 m), Chopok (2,024 m), Dereše (2,003 m), and Poľana (1,889 m) northward from the Liptov Basin. Ideal skiing terrain, world-famous caves, opportunities for summer hiking, and beautiful flora and fauna—combined with favorable climatic conditions—led to the establishment of a tourist resort in this valley: the village of Demänovská Dolina.

DEMÄNOVSKÁ VALLEY – PAVČINA LEHOTA – BODICE – LIPTOVSKÝ MIKULÁŠ
The bike trail begins at the Jozef Guesthouse in Demänovská Dolina. Behind the guesthouse, a forest path leads through the cottage area and joins the road to Pavčina Lehota. Continue straight into the village, then turn right at the fork. You’ll come to a grocery store. To the left behind the store, between the houses, there’s a paved path that takes you comfortably all the way to the village of Bodice. The path leads to Bodická Street in the village. At the fork, turn right and go downhill along Bodická Street. From there, you can ride freely through the village streets, heading toward the main road to Liptovský Mikuláš. From the grocery store, you’ll need to ride a short stretch along the main road. There’s a sidewalk running alongside the road that’s suitable for riding with children. Before the roundabout, turn left onto the sidewalk that goes under the roundabout. You’ll need to help younger children with their bikes on the section under the bridge along the Demänovka Creek. Continue straight until you reach the Palúdzka neighborhood and join Demänovská Street. On your left, you’ll see a Kaufland store. Here, cross to the other side of the road and turn right onto Chrenoviská Street; on your left, you’ll see a cemetery and a boarding school, and you’ll go down a small hill, after which you’ll turn left. You’ll smoothly merge onto Nábrežie K. Petroviča Street. Turn right onto the bridge over the Váh River. You’ll come to a roundabout; after it, continue straight (second exit) along Štúrova Street. When you reach Priora, you’ll arrive in the city center.
DEMÄNOVSKÁ VALLEY – PAVČINA LEHOTA – VIEWPOINT – LAZISKO – WOODEN ARTICULAR CHURCH
The bike trail begins at the Jozef Guesthouse in Demänovská Dolina. Behind the guesthouse, a forest road leads through a cottage area and joins the road to Pavčina Lehota. It leads straight into the village; at the fork, turn left toward the Žiarce ski resort. The road runs past the agricultural cooperative to the resort, where you’ll turn right onto the red bike trail toward Lazisko. Along the way, there’s an observation tower offering views of the surrounding area. In the village of Lazisko, turn left off the bike trail toward Svätý Kríž. Continue through the village and turn right at the end of the village. The road will take you directly to the wooden articular church.
On the way back, you can use the concrete road behind the village of Lazisko, which leads to the agricultural cooperative.
